The biography of Theresa Warter astonishes. At the age of 24 she leads the Dachstein distillery founded by her father, 980 meters above sea level, in the Salzburger Land, Austria.
Her enthusiasm for spirits began early: The student of a sports and wellness school should write a thesis on alcohol. But instead of the expected list of health risks, she deals with the flavors and nuances of spirits. She must then ask for special permission to complete at the age of 17, the training for eau-de-vie sommelier.
At the same age, she completes the Destillateur-Aufbaukurs (distillers advanced course) at the VLB in Berlin. In 2015, she passes the training to become a master of fruit processing with honors.
In the Dachstein distillery, she now distills whiskey, gin, bread brandy, fruit brandies, herbal spirit and the regional Zirbenschnaps. – DESTILLE BERLIN awards Theresa Warter the title “Young Distiller of the Year 2018”.
